A useful place for messages and coding-agent status
Halo brings small pieces of information to the top of a Mac’s screen: incoming messages, playback controls, dictation, and the state of an AI coding session. Its Buddy character shows whether an agent is working, needs attention, or has finished.
The official website presents Halo as a one-time purchase for macOS, with notifications from different apps and support for external monitors. The interface is designed around quick glances rather than opening several separate windows.
Halo revenue: more than $350 in seven days
On October 9, 2026, the creator reported more than 50 sales and over $350 in revenue during the previous week. Most of the app was written with Claude Code, using Swift and SwiftUI. These were one-time purchases rather than subscription MRR.
Threads supplied 79% of 5,700 website visitors. Many visitors were on phones, where they could not install a Mac app immediately. Short product videos and rapid changes based on user emails worked better than release notes.
The launch lesson
Halo makes a visual problem easy to demonstrate in a short clip. Its traffic breakdown also shows why a large social response and a purchase are different steps: the audience may first see a desktop product on a phone. A clear path back to the Mac matters as much as the initial demonstration.
