Stackbound gameplay still from its official Steam gallery

Stackbound asks players to stack blocks that obey physics, then adds cards and a spinning wheel that can change the rules mid-run. Werner Viljoen released it on Steam on July 21, 2026.

A system built around instability

Wood, stone and ice have different weights and grip. Players place them precisely, use cards to stabilize or sabotage a tower, and adapt to wind, gravity changes and time pressure chosen by the Difficulty Wheel. Successful towers can persist into later rounds, turning a simple stacking premise into a longer progression loop.

Viljoen's Rogue Dog Indie site says every game in the studio's solo-developed catalog was built with Claude Code and Codex. It also documents Stackbound's mechanics and directs visitors to the released Steam edition. The site does not reveal what proportion of this particular game's code or art was AI-generated, so that cannot be quantified responsibly.

Available to buy, sales undisclosed

The game's store page is live with a purchase option, not a future-release placeholder. No verified sales or player totals were published in the sources we found. For now the concrete milestone is the July Steam release.
